Ian & Sheila Leaver

In 1972 although Ian had a comfortable life complete with family and business, he still felt a void and asked God what more he could do. That began an incredible journey that took Ian, his wife Sheila and their three children to Quito, Ecuador to serve with HCJB Global, a radio and medical ministry that reaches around the globe with the Gospel. While in Ecuador, Ian filled a variety of rolls ending with that of Assistant Field Director. In 1990, he was asked to return to Canada to assist here and in 1992 the Leaver family made the move from Ecuador to Canada.

Today, as Director for Canada, Ian and the growing Canadian team pray daily that, in addition to being an advocate for Canadian missionaries and raising funds to support worldwide projects, God will continue to open doors to expand the ministry of "radio planting" in Canada. (i.e.: Responding to requests around the world our engineers, broadcasters and technicians can counsel those burdened to reach their own people concerning needed licenses, facilities. In addition HCJB Global can supply equipment.) God is using this rapidly growing arm of HCJB Global Canada to reach out in English, Urdu, and Low German, as well as Cree and Dene via radio station CIAM in northern Alberta. Although the number changes regularly there are now approximately 11 ministry partnerships with various radio stations across Canada.

Sheila serves as part of the Canadian office team as well as taking part in conference and church programs.
